Students from Suzhou&Wuhan join hands through painted postcards
The postcard painting activity "Suzhou Impression" started to call for entries for its fourth year event back in March. Themed on the fight against COVID-19 epidemic, this year’s online postcard painting relay is jointly organized by "Suzhou Impression" and Suzhou Gusu District Children’s Palace.
Up to now, the event has collected more than 20,000 painted postcards from primary and middle school students all across Suzhou. Among others, 58 classes from Wuhan Optical Valley No.6 Primary School have joined hands with 58 classes from Suzhou Jinchang Experimental Primary School, Jinzhu Experimental Primary School, Shantang Central Primary School and Lingering Garden Central Primary School as "anti-epidemic partners". All the paintings delivered via express online channels between Wuhan and Suzhou have brought the two sides closer to each other.
"When the epidemic is over, take off your mask and come to Suzhou. Welcome to Suzhou!" said Yu Shiwei, a third-grade student from Suzhou Xinkang Experimental Primary School, in his work.
Xu Zhen, Yu’s schoolmate, wrote down "Stay Strong" respectively in Chinese, English, Japanese and Korean and said, "The long night will pass, and the dawn of victory is in sight!"
Outstanding submissions will reportedly be selected to compete for the prizes of the 4th "Suzhou Impression". They will also have the opportunity to be made into postcards and stay available free of charge at Suzhou International Cultural Posts and iSuzhou coffee shops for people to send.
