Suzhou Symphony Orchestra stages concert in Shenyang
On Nov. 15, the Suzhou Symphony Orchestra staged a concert in Shengjing Grand Theater in Shenyang, capital city of Northeast China’s Liaoning province. The artists played waltzes and polkas following conductor Chen Xieyang, music director of the orchestra. Shenyang is the second stop of the orchestra’s domestic tour 2020.
This year marks the 4th birthday of the Suzhou Symphony Orchestra, which now has 70-plus outstanding musicians from 19 countries and regions, with an average age of 30 years. Over the past 4 years, it has developed into an internationally acclaimed music group.
It took only 8 months to complete the preparatory work of the orchestra, which made its world tour just 6 months after its establishment. It was the first Chinese orchestra invited to present a Chinese New Year concert at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. And its operation mode has been promoted in the whole country.
As of November 18 this year, the Suzhou Symphony Orchestra has performed 290 concerts in 20 cities of 10 countries and regions around the world, attracting more than 200,000 on-site audiences and 2.4 million online viewers. It has also held 200-plus art popularization activities, drawing more than 80,000 participants.
