Notice on epidemic prevention and control in Suzhou

According to the notice released by Tianjin Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia Prevention and Control Headquarters Office on November 20, 2020, a confirmed case was reported to have visited Suzhou between November 6 and 7. In view of the above-mentioned facts, epidemic prevention and control departments in Suzhou took immediate action by screening and tracking close contacts. This notice hereby species the followings:

Up to 18:00, November 21, 2020, Suzhou has screened and tracked a total of 128 close contacts; 95 of them were in Suzhou and tested negative for COVID-19; the rest 33 were outside Suzhou and notices were sent to the authorities of their locations to facilitate local epidemic prevention and control efforts.

We call on all citizens to pay serious attention to the situation of medium-risk and high-risk areas. We advise citizens against traveling to those areas in the near future unless it’s a must. Those who urgently need to go to those areas shall travel with proper self-protection; they shall report to local residential communities and their employers right after they return to Suzhou from those areas, and observe relevant epidemic prevention and control regulations.

All citizens shall enhance their awareness of self-protection such as wearing face masks properly (especially when taking public transport or visiting public places), washing hands often, ventilating room routinely and keeping social distance. Besides, citizens shall cooperate with body temperature check and health code verification when entering or exiting railway stations, ports and other public places.

Those who have such symptoms as fever, dry cough, fatigue, etc. shall wear medical masks, seek medical treatment at nearest fever clinics in due time, declare travel history during the past 14 days, and avoid taking public transport to the clinics.

There were one high-risk area and five medium-risk areas across the Chinese mainland.

High-risk area:

Tianjin Dongjiang Port Area (one): Kanhaixuan Community

Medium-risk areas:

Tianjin Binhai New Area (two): Hangu Subdistrict and Cold Chain Logistics Area A and Area B in the Central Fishing Port Economic Zone

Shanghai Pudong New Area (two): Yingqian Village, Zhuqiao Town; Mingtianhuacheng Community, Zhoupu Town

Yingshang County, Fuyang City, Anhui Province (one): Zhangyang Community, Shencheng Town

All regions outside the Chinese mainland (except Macao, which was at low risk level) remained high-risk areas.
