China-Japan Regional Cooperation Forum opens in Suzhou
An initiative between China's Yangtze River Delta region and Japan was released during the China-Japan Regional Cooperation Forum, held in Xiangcheng District, Suzhou City on Oct 18.
Jointly hosted by the Foreign Affairs Offices of Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang and Anhui, the forum focused on cooperation under the context of the delta’s move towards integrated development.
The delta region is at the forefront of China-Japan exchanges and also the destination of more than half of Japan's investment and trade with China.
As next year marks the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan, the delta will improve cooperation with Japan, including more exchanges at the regional government level.
