The Suzhou government has helped facilitate greater opportunities for both Chinese and international innovators to start businesses here since the Suzhou Venture Week for International Elites was launched six years ago.
After six successful sessions, the event has become a name card of the city of Suzhou. Not only does it help to effectively promote the development of start-up companies, but it also provides a solid base by which the city is able to increase its innovation hub aspirations, and one which is attractive to investors.

The venture week has focused on emerging industries of the city, including new energy, new materials, smart power grids, nanotechnology, biomedicine, modern equipment manufacturing, software service outsourcing, finance and cultural creativity.
So far, 1,760 projects have registered in Suzhou through the event, of which 1,473 are entrepreneurship programs and 287 are innovation ones. The total registered capital surpassed 14.2 billion yuan (US$2.32 billion).

Over the past six years, about 10, 200 senior talent  from more than 20 countries have been invited to attend the event. More than 70 percent of these visiting guests held doctorate degrees and brought 10,483 projects.

Various government departments and social organizations work hard and cooperate to provide good service and support to the venture week.

The event organizer has designed a series of activities to attract talent and facilitate business cooperation, such as face-to-face negotiations, project road shows and professional forums.
In addition to the on-site event, the organizer also launched online venture week and entrepreneurship competitions in development countries and regions to attract overseas elites.

The online venture week accepts project application throughout the year. Each project will get tailor-made service after it is submitted.
