Economy development zones

- National-Level EDZ-Suzhou Industrial Park

Established in February 1994 with approval of the State Council, Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) is a cooperative project of priority of the Chinese and Singaporean governments. The goal of SIP construction is “becoming a hi-tech industrial park with international competitive edge and a modern, gardened and internationalized urban area of Suzhou”.

- National Level EDZ-Suzhou New and Hi-tech District

Suzhou New and Hi-tech District was approved by the State Council in November 1992 as the National New and Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone. It is one of the first industrial parks opening to APEC economies, one of the first National Demonstrative Zones of ISO 14000 and an export base of new and hi-tech products manufactured in national new and hi-tech industrial development zone.
