The Flower arrangement & Chinese knot button experience activity for the International Working Women's Day was held in the iSuzhou Coffee Shop of Zhuangyuan Museum on March 10. More than 10 participants  gathered together to have a wonderful experience.

At two o'clock in the afternoon, the "Women's Workshop of iSuzhou" officially opened for operation! It is said that this demanding craft can only be done by hand rather than the machine. For this reason, we invited Xiang Dan and Wang Yunfang, artisans of Suzhou New Chiayi Silk Technology Co., Ltd. The Chinese knot button is developed from the ancient "knot". Although the button is very small, it has many different kinds, and the production process is very particular. There's no doubt  that it is the punchline of the cheongsam. At this event, the teachers selected a beautiful chrysanthemum Chinese knot button to let the participants have a wonderful cultural experience.

Used the ruler to measure different lengths, threaded the needles, sewed the beads, tied the knots... Whether the young girls or the old elegant ladys, everyone was very focused. Some of them stretched their necks to ask for teacher's help. Because of their outstanding ability on handmade, Some participants even ask for another additional course. How excellent they are!

After making a Chinese knot button, it’s time to pick up the big scissors and show your flower arranging skills! Zhang Teng, from Zhe Xiang Flower Haus, immediately brought us into the romantic world full of flowers, and the floral fragrance spreaded throughout the whole room. Teacher Zhang taught us a lots of knowledges about flower arrangement, including different kinds of flowers and their meanings, tips to keep flowers, and putting suitable flowers in different rooms. We cut the white hydrangea, yellow mun ping pong, purple delphinium, etc. and step-by-step made a flower box. With the Chinese knot button, the beautiful gift box was finally completed!

This activity was hosted by iSuzhou, a platform guided by publicity department of Suzhou Municipal Government and developed and operated by iSuzhou Studio of Suzhou Daily Group that devotes to promote cultural exchanges. We hope that through this event, you can fully show the woman's talent, confidence, and elegance, and feel the charm of traditional culture. Happy International Working Women's Day! Let's look forward to the next wonderful cultural journey!
